Guess who’s turning 50?

Your College!
We are excited to announce that Anoka-Ramsey Community College will be celebrating 50 years (1965-2015) of transforming lives this year.

The 50th Anniversary Task Force has been working diligently over the past several months to develop recommendations for the celebrations for both college campuses. The 50th Anniversary logo you see above will be available on the N:/drive, July 1. We encourage everyone to use it on their brochures, posters, mailing and correspondence over the course of the 2016 Academic Year.

The 50th Anniversary Task Force participants are:

Chair: Karla Sand
Administration member: Ed Norton (nominated by Roger Freeman)
Cambridge classified staff: Heidi Vidor
Cambridge faculty association: Sarah Ngo
Cambridge student: Shayla McKinney-Buck
Coon Rapids classified staff: Jaimie Lopez
Coon Rapids faculty association: Christine Larson
Coon Rapids student: Kevin Parker

Our milestone events include a 60s-themed, kick-off event on the Coon Rapids Campus (September, 19, 2015), the college’s  first-ever Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet (November/December 2015 ) and the  5k Fun Run closing event on the Cambridge Campus (April 30, 2016).

Along with these events, we are considering a 50th Anniversary Blog to share the history of Anoka-Ramsey (through stories, photos and videos), and to keep the college and surrounding communities up-to-date on activities happening throughout the academic year.

Now it’s your turn!

Several faculty members have already come forward, willing to incorporate the 50th Anniversary into their annual concerts, theatre productions and English programs.

We need everyone to make this celebration a success! If you are willing to volunteer your talents, time and energy please let one of our planning group leaders know ASAP:

Kick-off Event: Edward Norton,
Hall of Fame Banquet: Steve Crittenden,
5k Fun Run Closing Event: Heidi Vidor,
50th Anniversary Blog: Karla Sand,
